An Update Concerning Supply Chain Issues & Pricing Updates
To our valued customers and clients,
With the summer coming to a close and our peak season impending, we felt it appropriate to provide an update on how ongoing supply chain issues are affecting us, and how that will affect our services moving forward.
The Industry’s Current State
COVID-19 has caused lasting changes to the supply industry. After factories were initially shut down and supply-chain services were disrupted, there are still some lasting issues impacting the commercial world today. The supply-chain industry is one of planning, with deals for large companies taking place weeks, months, and sometimes years before their due date. As such, those initial disruptions are still causing aftershocks to all areas of industry today.
Apparel is no exception to this. While I Am T Shirts is proudly able to offer its services in full, delays are still affecting us. The suppliers we order from get much of their product shipped from overseas. These shipments are bottlenecked by limited available containers and increased shipping delays ever since the arrival of COVID-19. Shipping prices have also increased, leading to raised prices across the market.
These issues are coming to a head now. SanMar and our other apparel suppliers are having a hard time keeping backstock filled. Ink, apparel, and supply prices have all increased. Automated requests are taking longer than before to process.
What This Means for our Clients and Customers
These supply chain issues mean some minor changes to how we serve you. Some of our clients may have already noticed a delay in quotes. This is because our staff are forced to search for available apparel instead of always using one source. Quotes that previously took a few minutes to complete can now take upwards of 45 minutes to make sure we are getting our clients the best price and quality.
Additionally, in order to continue to provide the service, quality, and integrity you have come to expect from I Am T Shirts, we have been forced to up our prices to account for the prementioned increase in cost on apparel, ink, and other supplies. With the extra time and care put into the ordering process, our staff must work longer hours adding yet more cost to each order.
